With the summer climate starting to infiltrate British shores, outdoor enthusiast Sam Baker has come inside and decided to share his years of outdoors expertise, through his new outdoors-based blog; outdoorsblog.co.uk.

The idea for the blog came after Baker returned from a 2-month trip steering through the mountainous and picture-perfect roads of New Zealand, stopping off for regular doses of the greenest-of-earth and extreme activities along the way. It was the tip-of-the-iceberg for Baker, who wanted to see if he could put into words just how much fun can be had outdoors.

“The blog was born out of the inspiration the great outdoors provides me. It allowed a space to be created where I could share my experiences, travel tips and outdoor related news.” Says editor, Sam Baker.

The blog features topical news from the outdoors, including the recent uncertainty around who was the first climber to scale Mount Everest, whilst regularly keeping its readers’ up-to-speed with Ed Stafford’s record-breaking attempt at walking the length of the Amazon River to raise awareness around conservation issues.

It is topical stories which the blog blends with travel advice and destination guides, such as the recent Singapore and India posts. The guides are informative and written in an engaging writing style. The blog encapsulates the best multimedia from around the web too, retrieving pictures and videos of the most relevant and highest quality, such as the now famous ‘Sandpit’ video and National Geographic trailers.
