Get excited at Paris’ Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe

The big bucks will be rolling at the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in Paris, in which millions of euros can be won by participants.

It all takes place at the Hippodrome de Longchamp in the French capital on October 2nd and 3rd 2010, with plenty of people from all over the world likely to be in attendance thanks in part to the enormous prize money.

Travel listing site What’s on When claimed this horse racing event is very popular with Brits, since they can simply cross the channel and stay in Paris hotels for the weekend.

“There is a great deal at stake - more prize money than any other European race, with a total of nearly €2 million (£1.6 million) shared between the first five, more than a million of which goes to the winner,” added the online resource.

Planned start times for the races are between 14:00 local time and 17:50 on the Saturday and 14:00 and 18:10 on the Sunday.

Visitors planning on heading down to this stylish and thrilling event need only pay€4 or €8 depending on whether they wish to attend the first or the second day of the races.
