Destination restaurant City Café at Mint Hotel Westminster is launching a series of Junior Chef Master Classes for children aged 8-12.

The events are being lead by Alexis Guillemot, the hotel’s Executive Chef, and his award-winning team, for two days only, and the classes will see children educated about good eating habits and the importance of locally-sourced produce and seasonal ingredients – elements at the heart of City Café’s philosophy.

For only £40, one adult and one child can enjoy the class and their own hand-crafted three-course meal.

Alexis and his team will deliver a memorable experience, teaching children how to create delicious, healthy dishes – created from healthy and high-quality produce selected by City Café’s top chefs. Parents are also welcome to get involved and get some hands-on experience during these fun-filled lessons.

Each class will kick-off with Alexis providing the children with a personalised tour of City Café’s professional kitchen to give the kids and even their parents an exclusive and behind-the-scenes look at how a modern restaurant operates, including a sneak-peek at some of the exciting technical gadgets and equipment in use.

Alexis will also outline the thought and preparation that goes into every meal–showing children how to select ingredients and create exceptional dishes. Finally, the junior chefs will be able to gobble up the fruits of their labour - a delicious starter, main course and dessert.

Just two dates have been announced for these exclusive master classes - Saturday 6 August and Saturday 10 September 2011. Junior Chef Master Classes are open to kids aged 8-12, with a maximum of 10 children and 10 adults allowed per class.
