Guoman’s Royal Horseguards Hotel Serves Up a Taste of Christmas

Guoman Hotels is inviting guests to revel in the international flavours of Christmas by enjoying a ‘Taste of Christmas’ high tea at Guoman’s historic five-star The Royal Horseguards, in London’s Whitehall.

The festive-themed high tea selection has been created exclusively by the hotel’s talented resident pastry chef Joanne Todd. The deliciously cosmopolitan afternoon tea menu incorporates yuletide tastes from around the world, available for visitors to snuggle up with in front of the fireplace in the hotel’s romantic lounge which is decorated with festive garlands and a traditional Christmas tree.

Joanne has brought Christmas flavours from around the world and gift-wrapped them perfectly, with the menu including German mini stollen topped with fresh red currants and a shard of curved black and white marble-effect chocolate; a French ginger bread macaroon with vanilla cream; and American cookies infused with ginger. For a taste of the Far East, guests can try the traditional English Christmas pudding, wrapped in a Chinese wonton style pastry. Visitors enjoying the high tea can also indulge in the Scandinavian cranberry vodka jelly and Swiss white chocolate snowball.

To round off festivities, diners can finish with spiced scones and minced pies served with clotted cream and homemade preserves.

The Christmas tea for two will be available until 31 December at Guoman’s The Royal Horseguards.

The Royal Horseguards hotel also offers guests a selection of Christmas packages from the beautiful Christmas Day Lunch to the special New Year’s Eve ‘Midnight Revels’ package in which guests can ring in the New Year over a 6 course menu served in the swanky Gladstone Library overlooking the midnight fireworks display at the London Eye.
