Park Inn by Radisson Sofia has pledged its support for children from the Asen Zlatarov Orphanage in the town of Vratsa, 130 km NW from Sofia.

The management of the hotel Sofia, together with Tabitha Foundation, donated 100 bedspreads to 70 children aged 7 - 19 who are deprived of parental care and live in the orphanage. With the support of the educational centre in Vratsa, children will practice their sewing abilities to fit the bedspreads to their imaginations.

It is the second occasion that Park Inn by Radisson Sofia supported charitable institutions in 2011. Earlier this year the hotel generously donated a large amount of used bedding and towel supplies to the IWC Charity Foundation. Pillows, pillow covers, sheets, cover sets and towels were delivered to the home for the disabled in Petrovo and to the Hospice Miloserdie in Sofia. Both of these institutions had a great need for these supplies and were grateful to have received Park Inn’s donated goods. The Miloserdie Foundation offers comprehensive care to terminally ill people and runs a soup kitchen throughout the year. The home for the disabled in Petrovo, in the Municipality of Sandanski, accommodates 87 children and teenagers, the majority of which suffer from severe mental and physical disabilities.

The Rezidor Group introduced its Responsible Business program in 2001 and was one of the first hotel companies in the world to devise a comprehensive social and environmental program across all regions in 2001, comprising the responsibility for guest and employee health and safety, respect for social and ethical issues within the company and a reduced impact on the environment.

Since 2007 Rezidor has supported the World Childhood Foundation, with social and environmental activities as well as fund raising initiatives being organized regularly.
