Bangkok to welcome top archers for Asian Grand Prix 2012

The first Asian Grand Prix 2012 archery event is to be held in Bangkok next month and will see some of the world’s best archers taking part.

Organised by the World Archery Federation and the National Archery Association of Thailand, the event is open to all member associations and has been scheduled to allow those who are also participating in the World Archery Indoor Championships to compete.

Past Asian Grand Prix tournaments have seen top teams from across Asia getting involved, as well as leading European competitors, with this year’s Bangkok leg to be hosted at Hua Mark Archery Field.

The event begins with an opening ceremony on February 15th 2012 and concludes with a final round on February 19th, with competitions on offer for women and men, as well as mixed teams.

Last year’s corresponding competition saw Russian and French archers leading the pack, with Romain Giroulle and Inna Stepanova claiming gold medals.

Following the Bangkok event, the Asian Grand Prix programme will continue in May 2012 with a competition in Kazakhstan, followed by an Iranian leg in October.

Archery enthusiasts can find a comprehensive assortment of Bangkok hotels at AsiaRooms.com, including the Twin Towers Hotel.
