Sounds Great Movies and Musicals concert coming to Hong Kong

Lovers of classic film and theatre soundtracks will be able to enjoy the Sounds Great: Movies and Musicals concert in Hong Kong in March 2012.

To be performed by the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the concert comes as part of the Sounds Great series and will take place at the Kwai Tsing Theatre Auditorium on March 9th and 10th.

Conductor Nick Davies will lead the orchestra in performing iconic pieces from movies such as Titanic, The Wizard of Oz and the James Bond series, as well as stage shows like Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Evita and Chicago.

Joining the orchestra will be vocalists Jayne O’Mahoney and John Langley, members of the original casts of Les Mis and Mamma Mia! respectively.

Tickets range in price between HK$140 and HK$280 (£11.60 and £23.20), with performances commencing at 20:00 local time each evening.

The Hong Kong Sinfonietta perform regular concerts in the Chinese city, with their repertoire ranging from classical composers such as Mozart and Bach to popular compositions from Disney movies.
