Enjoy A Starlight Soiree opera performance in Phuket

The British International School (BIS) Amphitheatre in Phuket will be staging a solo opera performance at a forthcoming charity event in February 2012, entitled A Starlight Soiree.

To be held on February 16th for one night only, the show takes place in a beautiful outdoor setting and will allow audiences to enjoy the stunning voice of Julie-Anne Hunter, a noted professional soprano.

Hunter, who has appeared in operatic roles across Europe, will be accompanied by BIS students and pianist Merja Makivirta as she runs through a programme packed with classical pieces and popular arias.

The event is being held to raise funds for the Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation, a charitable organisation dedicated to helping local youngsters learn English, thus greatly improving their vocational opportunities.

Entry to the concert involves making a donation of 1,500 baht (£30.70), which includes the cost of three glasses of wine or beer, plus canapes.

The performance runs from 19:00 to 20:30 local time, with cocktail wear set to be the dress code for the evening.

Opera lovers can take their pick from a massive assortment of Phuket hotels at AsiaRooms.com, with the Patong Merlin Hotel among them.

Full details about the performance and the charity are located at www.phukethasbeengoodtous.org.
