The Falmouth Spring Festival will return to Cornwall in March 2012 following the success of last year’s inaugural event.

Running from Saturday March 17th to Sunday March 25th, the festival programme includes a variety of special activities taking place in and around the picturesque coastal town.

Some of the events will be completely free to attend, such as the rock pooling sessions at Castle Beach and the spring fair at Events Square on Sunday March 18th.

Run Falmouth, the town’s first half-marathon in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care, is due to take place on the same day. Pre-registration is priced at £13 for affiliated runners and £15 for non-affiliated participants.

There will also be a 1.5-mile fun run for those who would like to help raise some money without running a great distance. Entry for this event is priced at £5.

Other anticipated highlights of the Spring Festival include a special exhibition at the Falmouth Art Gallery and guided evening walks through the town, which will start from the National Maritime Museum at 17:00 GMT on selected days.
