Kalasin Prae Wa Silk Festival coming soon to Thailand

Thailand’s Kalasin province will be showcasing an array of stunning locally-produced fabric products during the upcoming Kalasin Prae Wa Silk Festival.

The annual event is the largest cultural celebration in the entire region and will introduce visitors to the beauty of Prae Wa silk, which is woven by the Phu Thai settlers and is known as the “queen of silks”.

Opening with a grand ceremony at Amphoe Muang Kalasin, the festival encompasses all manner of activities, including contests of the finest Prae Wa silks and costumes, as well as competitions focused on dancing, singing and folk entertainment.

Shops will be decorated using the special material, while attendees will also be able to purchase fabric samples and ready-to-wear clothes made with the silk.

Running alongside the Kalasin Prae Wa Silk Festival will be the Best of Kalasin Fair, meaning visitors will also be able to shop for local products, merchandise and gems.

Other events that have taken place during the festival in previous years include fashion shows and traditional Thai stage dramas.

A wide variety of Thailand hotels is available for cultural enthusiasts at AsiaRooms.com, including the Pullman Khon Kaen Raja Orchid.
