Top 10 Nairobi Day Tours and Masai Mara Safaris in Kenya

The Migration Starts in Masai Mara Early in 2017

Nairobi, Kenya, 2017-Jun-13 — /EPR TRAVEL NEWS/ — The migration of wildebeests and zebras have now entered the Mara. This has been confirmed today (7th June, 2017) after a fact finding mission round the entry points along the Mara and Serengeti border. Though this is still in its’ initial stages, every indication shows that the stage is set for the world’s most fascinating wildlife spectacle. A few herds of mainly zebras and wildebeest have crossed the border near sand river gate. They could be seen this morning taking their traditional route towards Roan hill, and some have already crossed the main road to the Mara river from Sekenani gate. Their movement however is slower because of the amount of grass in their way. Since April this year we have continued having intermittent rains which has made the plains covered in long green grass. we are still experiencing sporadic rain showers.

Many travelers come to Africa in search of the “big five”: buffalo, lions, leopards, elephants and rhinoceroses. The chance to get close to these animals in their natural habitats is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but your trip to the Africa is anything but a trip to the zoo. Safaris can be physically taxing and strenuous, and you may not see all the animals you expected. Since most safari destinations are in developing sub-Saharan nations, travelers must take certain safety and health precautions. If you’re planning a safari (or just dreaming about it), be as prepared as possible. Get some good guidebooks, talk to friends who’ve been to Africa and research, research, research. We’ve outlined some important safari basics, from choosing a destination to getting vaccinated, to help you start planning a successful African adventure such as short trip to the Nairobi National Park which can be booked online through https://www.cruzeiro-safaris.com/nairobi-national-park or through our partner online travel agency Get Your Guide Nairobi National Park Tour -link https://www.getyourguide.com/nairobi-l267/nairobi-national-park-full-day-tour-t11393/

Search Africa safaris to Kenya National Parks and Nairobi City Tours from one platform – Cruzeiro-safaris.com

Nairobi, Kenya, 2016-May-30 — /EPR Network/ — Going on safari in Kenya https://www.cruzeiro-safaris.com/kenya and Tanzania https://www.cruzeiro-safaris.com/kenya/14-nairobi-safaris/long-safaris/14-adventure-in-the-african-bush during the off-peak seasons is a good option that does not spell game viewing disappointment and miserable weather. In fact, travelling in the low seasons – the long rains from March to June and the short rains from October to December – is an enticing option. The wet seasons (March to June and October to December) also have luminous sunsets and plenty of animals nurturing their young excellent reasons to brave the rain (which, by the way, is patchy rather than perpetual downfall).”

cruzeiro elephants

The shoulder seasons which fall between the low and peak periods offer similar advantages to the low seasons. Falling at the start and end of the rains, the shoulder seasons are often the best time to go on safari in East Africa in terms of balancing cost, game viewing, visitor numbers and weather. The shoulder season between the long and short rains – from January to March, is actually considered by some safari veterans to be the best time to go game viewing in Kenya and Tanzania. https://www.safaribookings.com/p1029

Here are 5 Reasons to go on Safari in East Africa during the Shoulder & Low Seasons
1. Save Money East Africa is not the cheapest of African regions to visit. As the traditional heartland of African wildlife safaris, the prices in East Africa are higher than in most Southern African countries. These higher costs can put budget conscious travelers off, but the good news is that prices drop during the off-peak times of the year, bringing these classical safari destinations within reach. One of the reasons prices fall is because mainstream travel advice is to avoid the rainy seasons and that winter game viewing is best. Also, most travelers tend to travel during the northern hemisphere summer and over Christmas and New Years.
2. You can save between 20 and 40% on safaris outside of the high and peak season.
3. It’s not just the safari packages that are cheaper in low season, the accommodation rates drop saving you money on pre and post tour accommodation. Activities are also offered at reduced prices, as are day trips.
4. If you’re travelling independently in East Africa during low season you also have more leverage for bargaining and negotiating better deals too.
5. Flights are also cheaper, due to lower demand! All-in-all it can make an otherwise too expensive African safari affordable. We are able to enjoy the amazing moorlands, the beautiful snowcaps, mysterious oceans and seas and incredible wildlife. However, it is our responsibility to ensure that whilst we enjoy the marvels of this world we should be conscious of maintaining the conservation of these wonders. https://www.getyourguide.com/mombasa-l443/2-days-tsavo-east-and-west-national-park-safari-in-kenya-t12389/,https://www.getyourguide.com/nairobi-l267/4-day-lake-nakuru-park-and-maasai-mara-reserve-safari-tour-t17780/, https://www.getyourguide.com/nairobi-l267/maasai-mara-safari-from-nairobi-t55408/,

Holidays are everybody’s ideal way to relax and see the world. As our guests get to experience the wildlife and other products we have to offer such conservation is of outmost important. We support conservation by preferring to prioritize Eco-lodges and thereafter the other camps and Budget Camps as well. The Amboseli National Park is very near Nairobi about 3 hours drive one way https://www.cruzeiro-safaris.com/3-days-amboseli-park At these eco-facilities you will be able to learn more about how important they are to secure the existence of the local environment and how you are directly helping the local community by choosing to stay in such an accommodation.

Cruzeiro Safaris take on travel advisories lift TELL TRAVELERS TO TRAVEL

Nairobi, Kenya, July 30, 2015 — /EPR TRAVEL NEWS/ — Tour operators and hoteliers in Kenya are finally having a breather after the travel advisories by the British government were lifted sometime in June, 2015. One can read the full statement on the FCO website for the British embassy. The coming of the President of the United States of America is another plus and boost to the tourism industry. Now travelers can flock the country Kenya with confidence.

The East African Adventure is awaiting all travel enthusiasts to enjoy last minute deals or just plan ahead for the long term safari adventure in 2015 and 2016. One thing for sure is that the annual migration of the wildebeest is still taking place regardless of the presence of any audience. Adventure travelers can take advantage of the 3 country VISA option for Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. As we write this article we received a new circular British and Irish Nationals need a VISA to enter Kenya. The single entry visa allows a re-entry to Kenya from Tanzania and Uganda. Other arrangements can be made to Ethiopia and Zambia.

With the successful safari of camel derby in 2013 where we took a group of people and they won several awards in the derby, this year 2015 we anticipate to take even a large group of people. The takes place from 14-16 August, 2015 in Maralal, Samburu County. We have more information on our website and how to bookhttp://www.cruzeiro-safaris.com/kenya/274-fansof-maralal-carmel-derby-

Starting off is Kenya with its adventurous Game reserves or National Reserves which are set up and managed by the local authority where they located. The local communities interact freely with the wildlife before such areas are declared game reserves. Unlike National Parks, the local communities are allowed to live and graze their animals in game reserves. For example, the Maasai people live and graze their animals in Maasai Mara without being restricted by the management of the park. Game reserves may also be set up and owned and managed by private individuals with special permission from the Central Government. Golf holidays with adventure are also increasingly becoming popular. Adventures and sports enthusiasts are not left behing with the amazing 20days safari in Kenya and Tanzania with highlight visits to:

  • Maasai Mara National Reserve
  • Lake Nakuru National Park
  • Lake Naivasha National Park
  • Hells Gate National Park – cycling, walking, oljorowa gorge, sulphuric pool
  • Mount Longonot National Park
  • climbing the crater approx 20kms
  • Aberdares National Park
  • Karura falls
  • Mount Kenya National park -mount climbing
  • Sweetwaters Sanctuary or Samburu National reserve
  • Amboseli National Park
  • Tarangire National Park
  • Serengeti National Par
  • Ngorongoro Crater  and Park
  • Olduvai gorge
  • Lake Manyara National Park
  • Nairobi  and Arusha
  • Carnivore restaurant
  • Nairobi City tour
  • Shopping

Safaris from Mombasa city which is located along the Kenyan Coast, has numerous beach resorts and apartments that one can choose from. City tours of Mombasa and Safaris to Tsavo and Amboseli Parks and the Summer package can be arranged.

We then head to the adventure of Gorilla trekking either in Uganda or Rwanda but we emphasize on Rwanda this time. Another breed of the Golden monkeys is also within reach from the Volcanoes National Park. The Golden monkey is a local sub-species of the widespread Sykes Monkey, also known as the ‘Blue Monkey” and is endemic to the high altitude forest of the Volcanoes National Park areas. The monkeys are playful and inquisitive and often spend time leaping form bamboo branches or flicking on the forest floor. Visitors are permitted to stay for 1 hour with the Golden monkeys just as with the Mountain Gorillas. In 4 days you can spend time in Rwanda on full adventure.

As much as it’s not on the agreement for the #EACVISA, Tanzania is also worth visiting. When we talk of Tanzania what comes in mind is its fame of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti or the spice Island of Zanzibar that comes in to our minds. Even though some tourist destinations have remained unpretentious and have hardly been exposed to the outside world. Departing on Sunday they offer 12 days of the Best of Tanzania and Zanzibar.

Another adventure that one can combine with the above 2 is the visit to Victoria Falls in Zambia or famously knows as Vic Falls. Taking a 5 day trip to the Livingstone area, Botswana for a river safari get on the 4×4 trucks for a game driver in the Chobe National park, take a guided tour to Vic falls and fly over the falls with a helicopter. Later on take a sunset cruise on Zambezi River. They package it to fly from Nairobi’s capital and return there. This makes it easy for one to just book their inward and outbound flights from home to Nairobi.

Short tours or trips can be organized locally from Nairobi, Mombasa or Arusha.

This is the right season for travelers all over the world to head to Kenya.

LondonTown.com: London landscapes celebrated in new exhibition

South London parks are the subject of new photographic exhibition at the Horniman Museum.

LONDON, June 08, 2015 — /EPR TRAVEL NEWS/ — A new photographic exhibition celebrating London’s lesser-known landscapes open this month at one of London’s friendliest museums. South London Landscapes is now open at the Horniman Museum And Gallery this week and runs throughout the summer, featuring photographs of the Horniman itself as well as other picturesque public spaces in and around south London. The Horniman is one of London’s liveliest small museums, boasting excellent natural history and music galleries, a small aquarium and extensive landscaped grounds. For more information, and to see the latest deals on London hotels, see LondonTown.com.

South London Landscapes features photographs taken by London-based landscape photographer Max A Rush. The photographs, which include pictures of the Horniman Gardens, are taken in unusual and beautiful weather and capture how the passage of the seasons and the forces of the weather transform the appearance and character of the local landscape. Areas featured in South London Landscapes include Brockwell Park, Crystal Palace Park, Dulwich Park, Dulwich Wood, Ruskin Park and the Horniman Gardens.

Max Rush says: ‘These are a few of my favourite locations around south London. I’ve continually returned to them over the years, watching the seasons pass and the elements batter, freeze and occasionally warm their well-worn faces. I’ve witnessed moments of transcendental beauty in familiar places and endeavoured to capture them as truthfully as I can. So many people fight their way out of the city every week for the sake of nature, but perhaps what they’re looking for was here all along.’ For more information on this and other exhibitions and events taking place at the Horniman this summer, see LondonTown.com.

LondonTown.com: Groundbreaking London exhibition looks at post-war Black British artists

Guildhall Art Gallery explores the work of little-known but pivotal Afro-Caribbean artists

LONDON, June 08, 2015 — /EPR TRAVEL NEWS/ — A groundbreaking new exhibition at the Guildhall Art Gallery in the City of London will look at the little-known and rarely exhibited history of 20th-century Black British art. No Colour Bar: Black British Art in Action 1960-1990 runs from 10 July 2015 to 24 January 2016, and will explore the history of art produced by Britain’s Afro-Caribbean citizens, reflecting their experiences in the country after the major emigrations that occurred following the end of the Empire at the conclusion of the Second World War. For more information on this and other exhibitions in London this summer, see LondonTown.com, where you can also find information on London events and cheap London hotels.

At the heart of the exhibition will be a recreation of the Bogle-L’Ouverture Walter Rodney bookshop, created by renowned artist and curator Dr Michael McMillan (West Indian Front Room) and sound and visual specialists, Dubmorphology. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in a stunning multi-sensory, multi-visual experience including works of art, sculpture, photographs, paintings, letters and other artefacts from more than 25 prominent Black artists during this period including Eddie Chambers, Sonia Boyce, Denzil Forrester and Chila Kumari Burman.

Influenced by the emergence of newly independent African and Caribbean states, global liberation struggles, the fight against unfair discrimination and an insistence on dignified citizenship within Britain, these artists found expression by way of ‘creation for liberation’. The exhibition will explore these struggles and celebrate their contribution through four themes: ‘Elbow Room’, ‘Broad Shoulders’, ‘Clenched Fists’ and ‘Open Arms’.

Throughout its tenure, No Colour Bar: Black British Art in Action 1960-1990 will also play host to a series of scheduled events enriching the visitor experience through a diverse range of educational talks, workshops and gallery tours. LondonTown.com: Cutting-edge US artist receives first major European show in London this summer

Raven Row gallery in Spitalfields hosts a retrospective of ground-breaking US artist Larry Johnson.

LONDON, June 08, 2015 — /EPR NETWORK/ — One of America’s most interesting contemporary artists is to receive his first major European exhibition at a new gallery that focuses on cutting-edge, avant-garde art. Raven Row is a non-profit contemporary art exhibition centre in Spitalfields that is housed within two eighteenth-century merchants’ houses integrated with new galleries and its next exhibition, Larry Johnson: On Location runs from 11 June to 9 August 2015. It is directed and funded by Alex Sainsbury of the Sainsbury family, whose family have funded many great art projects in London, such as the Sainsbury Wing of the National Gallery. Raven Row is a very different enterprise, offering thoughtful shows on lesser-known artists and allowing visitors to explore the fascinating quarter of Spitalfields. The area is filled with fashionable boutiques, great shops and cool bars and restaurants. To explore its attractions, see LondonTown.com, where you can also find the latest room rates for hotels in London.

On Location brings together a selection of works by Larry Johnson from the early 1990s to the present. The show’s uncontested star is Los Angeles, the city in which Johnson has lived and worked all his life. For over thirty years, LA’s physical and imaginary appearance has served as the set for the artist’s photo-based investigations of the glamour industry, replete with fading stars and premature deaths. Johnson’s work bears the marks of a generation of artists sampling readymade images and texts to create seductively laconic pictures. Yet the colourful sheen of Johnson’s photo-based works is also a foil for sexual, political and semantic tension. The artist’s pictures are encryptions of a Hollywood demi-monde, referring to the cultures from which his work emerges queer, political, filmic and theoretical.

The exhibition is curated by Los Angeles-based writer Bruce Hainley, and by Antony Hudek, Curator and Deputy Director of Raven Row. Commie Pinko Guy, a publication edited by Hainley with new essays by Morgan Fisher, Lisa Lapinski, Hainley, Hudek and Wayne Koestenbaum, as well as reprints of classic underground queer writing, will accompany the exhibition. For more information on this and other exhibitions in London’s cutting-edge contemporary art scene, see LondonTown.com.

LondonTown.com: Classic London cinema at the Southbank all summer

BFI Southbank unveils new season dedicated to films exploring the UK capital.

LONDON, June 08, 2015 — /EPR TRAVEL NEWS/ — London On Film is a new major season of films at the BFI Southbank that will explore and celebrate the capital for four months from 1st July to 9th October. This is the first time the BFI has ever celebrated the city in which it is based, and will feature 200 films, a number of which have been unseen since they were first filmed, offering an extraordinary perspective of the city from the past 120 years. The BFI Southbank is the national home of cinema, featuring three state-of-the-art screens in Waterloo on the Southbank. For more on this vital cultural quarter, as well as the latest rates forLondon hotels, seeLondonTown.com.

The London On Film season will include events such as a Soho Weekender (24-26 July) to celebrate the unique culture of Soho captured in films from 1896 – 1985 such as West End Jungle (1961), The Small World of Sammy Lee(1963) and Sunshine in Soho (1956). There will also be a discussion event Vanishing Soho on the state of Soho today in the light of current major changes for those who live and play there. It will include some of the earliest films ever made, such as RW Paul’s Blackfriars Bridge (1896(. Films from major filmmakers include Anthony Asquith’s evocative Underground (1928), the first feature to be shot on the underground and Nicolas Roeg’s Performance (1970), which takes us into the dangerous realms of psychedelic and sexual experimentation. There will also be films by Alfred Hitchcock, Michael Winterbottom and Otto Preminger.

Black experience is highlighted in a series of key films including Earl Cameron’s pioneering role as a black sailor in the crime drama Pool of London (1951) with fine use of locations around Tower Bridge, Poplar, Southwark and the City; Cameron also stars in the little seen The Heart Within (1957) another crime thriller set in London’s Docklands. Sapphire (Basil Dearden, 1959) is a film-maker’s response to the Notting Hill race riots wrapped up in a murder mystery while Babylon (Franco Rosso, 1981) shows the demoralisation of black youth, and offers an eerily prescient portrait of the situation in Deptford which would give rise to the Brixton Riots of the same year. LondonTown.com: British Museum gets its medals out for the great French Sun King

Free exhibition at the museum showcases remarkable 17th-century emblems of Louis XIV’s reign

LONDON, June 08, 2015 — /EPR TRAVEL NEWS/ — The British Museum is holding a new exhibition that looks at the medals drawn from the reign of the great French Sun King, Louis XIV. Triumph and disaster: medals of the Sun King runs from 4 June to 15 November and marks the tercentenary year of the death of Louis XIV. It is one of several free exhibitions that are held at the British Museum every year to draw attention to the many easily overlooked marvels within its collection and to present them in new ways to mark anniversaries or to reinterpret the material. For more information on the full programme of exhibitions at the British Museum, see LondonTown.com, where you can also find the latest information on cheap hotels in London.

The Louis XIV medals are preserved as they were in Louis XIV’s own day and includes contributions from the British Library which has a unique manuscript scrapbook of drawings and notes on the creation of the history, and the V&A. The medals were a way for the king to portray his reign and the greatest writers (including Jean Racine), historians, artists and medalists of the day were brought together by the king to ensure that posterity would see his rule as Louis wished it to be seen: the reign of an ideal and ever victorious monarch.

The early medals portray a dazzling image of a ‘Sun King,’ who is represented as hard-working, accessible, generous and just; a king that worked for the benefit of the people, glorifying as much in their happiness as in victory over his enemies. The picture changed as war succeeded war and defeat succeeded victory. The later medals, though careful to represent only French successes, are so numerous that they give the impression not of victory but of endless and draining warfare.

Elsewhere in Europe, particularly in the Netherlands, medals were produced that mocked and satirized the official French medals. These rival medals showed the French sun eclipsed by the zodiacal signs of his enemies, and Louis as an old man being roundly beaten by Queen Anne. Collectively, these medals and attendant literature present a fascinating and unique self-portrait of a regime which dominated Europe for nearly sixty years, and which established the primacy of French taste and French culture for over a century.

Spanning four screenings over three days, this will be the UK’s first major survey of maverick filmmaker Parviz Kimiavi, a pioneer of alternative cinema in 1970’s Iran. LondonTown.com: Amazing artwork celebrates international landmark at British Library

New tapestry explores collision of an 800-year-old artefact with modern technology.

LONDON, April 28, 2015 — /EPR TRAVEL NEWS/ — The British Library is set to open a small contemporary art installation to accompany its current blockbuster exhibition Magna Carta: Law, Liberty, Legacy, which runs until 1st September 2015. This exhibition looks at the history of Magna Carta on its 800th anniversary. For more information and to see information on the programme of related events, see LondonTown.com, where you can also find information on London events and London hotels.

The new installation takes the form of a new artwork by Cornelia Parker calledMagna Carta (An Embroidery), which runs from 15th May to 24th July. This is a piece of embroidery that has been created by many different hand – including prisoners, lawyers, artists and barons – and which replicates in stitch the entire Wikipedia article on the Great Charter as it appeared on the document’s 799th anniversary in 2014. The Wikipedia article attracts more than 150,000 page views each month and is constantly being amended by users of the website as the debate about Magna Carta and its legacy ebbs and flows.

“This is a snapshot of where the debate is right now,” says Parker. “Echoing the communal activity that resulted in the Bayeux Tapestry, but on this occasion placing more emphasis on the word rather than the image, I wanted to create an artwork that is a contemporary interpretation of Magna Carta.”

One of Britain’s most celebrated artists, Parker works in a variety of media and is well known for her sculpture and installation in which she transforms ordinary objects into compelling works of art. She was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 1997, elected a Royal Academician in 2009 and appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2010. LondonTown.com: Recent Crossrail finds go on exhibition at the Museum of London

London museum opens new free display area dedicated to recent archaeological discoveries.

LONDON, April 28, 2015 — /EPR TRAVEL NEWS/ — The Museum of London – the only London museum dedicated to exploring the history of the capital in which it is located – has opened two new exhibition areas to expand upon the experience it offers visitors. Looking for Londoners and Show Space will both hold free, regularly changing displays that will show recent archaeological discoveries, find contemporary parallels for historic objects in the museum’s collections to and provide access to objects that are not normally on public display. Exhibits include items uncovered during recent excavations at Dickens Square in Southwark, revealing that the Baitul Aziz Mosque is the latest chapter in the story of a place where Londoners have been living and working for 2,000 years.

The museum is continually adding new objects to its collections. Show Space will present some of the museum’s more recent arrivals, as well as objects from existing collections that make connections withwhat’s happening in London right now. Exhibits illustrating popular culture and social and political change will feature. The first display focuses on the theme of spring, and Londoners’ attempts to introduce nature into the capital. Exhibits include a spring-themed fancy dress outfit worn in the late 1890s to a ball in the Portman Rooms in Baker Street, cup-cake coloured porcelain figurines featuring various embodiments of spring, as well as a mystery gnome. For future exhibitions in these two new spaces, see LondonTown.com.

LondonTown.com: Get creative on Hampstead Heath this summer

Great series of family events announced for the summer at Kenwood House.

LONDON, April 28, 2015 — /EPR TRAVEL NEWS/ — The stately home that sits in the centre of one of London’s largest open spaces has announced a programme of family events this spring. Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath boasts incredible interiors and stunning art collection as well as acres of grounds with unrivalled views of London. Hampstead Heath is heaven for ramblers and children, boasting a combination of landscaped lawns and wild woodland, as well as pools, paths and playgrounds. It is easily reachable from central London by underground, rail or bus and there are several great restaurants, shops and cafes in the environs. For more about Hampstead Heath, and to get the latest deals on hotels in London, see LondonTown.com.

Kenwood House’s programme of family arts, crafts and storytelling events is another great reason to visit the area. Families can work together to try out different arts and crafts at Family First Sundays from Sunday 7th June and which then take place on the first Sunday of every month. These creative workshops will bring Kenwood’s world famous paintings to life. Under 5’s Fridays takes place every Friday, allowing families with pre-schoolers to join the creative craft making, sweet storytelling and fun sing-a-longs for a memorable morning in a unique setting.

Children can discover the stories behind the house’s collection with interactive storytelling sessions at Storytelling Sundays on Sunday 26th April and Sunday 31th May. These multi-sensory and hands-on sessions are a great opportunity to uncover the lives of the people in the paintings. May Half Term Crafts from Tuesday 26th to Thursday 28th May is a chance for children to enjoy their school break and get their creative juices flowing as they get crafty and make something great to treasure and take home. This will be repeated throughout the summer holidays every Tuesday and Wednesday with ‘Summer Holiday Crafts’.

Kenwood Stories takes place on the last Sunday of every month from Sunday 28th June, throughout the year, while Slavery Remembrance Day on Sunday 23 August gives visitors the opportunity to commemorate this day by taking part in this storytelling and enactment event based on Dido Bello, who was born into slavery from her biological mother Maria Belle, but brought to live at Kenwood by her father John Lindsay, a British citizen who moved her to England. For more information on other events at Kenwood House as well as daily opening times and admission prices, see LondonTown.com.
