The Sydney Rides Festival is due to take place from the 8th to the 16th of October 2011 and is ideal for all cycling enthusiasts.
The event is being organised by the local authorities in Sydney to celebrate and encourage those who want to cycle more frequently. During the event, there will be a number of cycling events including National Ride to Work Day and the Sydney Bike Film Festival.
The local government is promoting a number of green issues and events and encouraging people to cycle is just one initiative in the region. There are various venues for the events and there is no cost to take part in any of them.
Sydney, a very busy city any time of the year can become even more popular with visitors during festivals and other events. Lek Boonlert, head of marketing for DirectRooms.com has suggested that anyone looking to travel into the city, either for the festival or just to visit, should book their accommodation in advance. “Sydney city centre hotel rooms can become booked up very quickly, so to avoid disappointment book any accommodation in plenty of time prior to arrival.”
Anyone who misses out on a city centre hotel or those who prefer to stay a little further away from the action need not worry that they will miss anything. Sydney public transport is excellent. It is both reliable and efficient and makes navigating the city and surrounding areas very easy.
