Bespoke Hotels has taken over a long-term lease and the management of the Cotswold House hotel and Noel Arms in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire

Bespoke Hotels has taken over a long-term lease and the management of the Cotswold House hotel and Noel Arms in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire.

The hotel management company, which has a portfolio of more than 50 properties, has acquired the lease of the two hotels from Egyptian-based Concorde Hotel Management. Concorde bought the hotels in 2007 from Ian and Christa Taylor, who ran the properties for eight years and won three Cateys: the Best Independent Marketing Campaign awards in 2005 and 2007 and the Hotel of the Year – Independent award in 2005.

Bespoke Hotels said it planned to restore the two properties to a prominent place within the community. The group’s chief executive, Haydn Fentum, said he was optimistic that trade could be developed among both locals and visitors.

“Our first task is to build relations with all of the local people,” he said. “We really want to play our part in the local business community and help bring more trade and visitors to the area.”

Former Acorn Award winner Julian Ebbutt, who has previously worked at the Lygon Arms and the Bath Spa, has been appointed general manager of the 28-bedroom Cotswold House hotel and the 27-bedroom Noel Arms.

“I’ll be focusing on building up levels of service and hospitality in both hotels and also working hard to put all of our restaurants back on the map,” he said.

“This is a fantastic opportunity because there is so much going on in Chipping Campden and we want to be right at the heart of that.”

Another Cotswold hotel of merit in the Bespoke portfolio is Wyck Hill House in Stow-on-the-Wold, as well as the Frogmill near Cheltenham. The company will also be opening Wood Norton Hall in Evesham later this year.

Launch of New Travel Website That Auctions Hotel Accommodation

World’s first online bidding website selling hotel accommodation across the world has just been launched.

Only Bidding is a company with a new concept based on the fact that unoccupied hotel rooms are lost revenue.

Only Bidding empowers the consumer to pay a price that they are happy to pay for hotel accommodation and a price that hotel suppliers are willing to accept for that room- balancing supply and demand: a Win- Win situation for all!

For the customer, it’s simply grabbing a bargain hotel stay for a price that may otherwise be out of budget. Customers can find great deals during low seasons/quiet periods and last minute as hotels will be willing to reduce the room rate. Hotel rooms are an inventory that expires each night, so hotels often will accept rates that are cheaper than other available rates.

For the hotel, the advantages of joining Only Bidding are clear- they get to fill otherwise unoccupied rooms with guests. A hotel will be paying indirect costs for the running of the hotel regardless of whether the hotel has one room occupied or a hundred. The hotel would increase occupancy and therefore increase revenue. Additionally, there is a greater chance of the hotel’s restaurants, bars, spa facilities having an increase in turnover as there are more guests.

Is Only Bidding any different to Ebay or Groupon?
It is different from eBay as Only Bidding sells hotel accommodation with specified dates and not vouchers. This guarantees availability thus being advantageous over vouchers which can leave customers disappointed if they can’t book their chosen dates.

Is Only Bidding any different to Priceline?
Only Bidding is different to Priceline because with Only Bidding you will know the name of the hotel that you are bidding on- so no apprehensive guessing needed! Additionally, Priceline allows a customer to name a price once every 24 hours. With Only Bidding, if the customers bid is unsuccessful then they can always place another bid.

How to get a bargain hotel room!
Step 1- Search auctions & find a hotel you want to stay at.
Step 2- Bid on the hotel auction until you’re the highest bidder
Step 3- Get your suitcases packed & enjoy!
