Individual parking reviews for 130 airports across United States and Canada

Hardy, VA, 2018-Jan-17 — /Travel PR News/ — Airport Parking Helper, a leading authority on discount airport parking in the United States and Canada, recently expanded its online services to an additional 117 airports.

“From Albuquerque to Winnipeg, we now offer individual parking review pages for 130 airports,” said the website’s founder, Jennifer Church. “Each airport review page details a variety of ways flyers can find cheap airport parking options. Some are traditional money-savings methods – like private off-site parking lots – while others are more creative airport parking strategies that perhaps they haven’t thought of before.”

To make it easier for travelers to quickly find their airport, also added a powerful search feature.

“Simply type in your city name or airport code in the in the box at the upper right corner of every page and click ‘Go!’ to find the custom parking review for your airport,” Church said. “Once there, you can browse our expert airport parking tips, grab a coupon code and quickly and securely reserve your parking space online.”

Church added that new features have already been a huge hit with visitors to the site.

“We hear repeatedly from flyers in the U.S. and Canada that we’ve made it so much easier for them to find cheaper options for short term and long term airport parking,” she said. “Now, with a more robust site, we can help an even larger number of them save money and time by pre-booking a guaranteed spot, something most on-site economy airport parking lots don’t allow.”

While the expansion benefits travelers in small and mid-size markets who previously had difficulty finding a comprehensive resource for airport parking options, those in larger cities will also find the site’s added functionality helpful.

“With on-site airport parking costs continuing to skyrocket at major metro airports like New York’s JFK, Chicago’s O’Hare and SFO, it’s more important than ever for travelers to book airport parking in advance if they don’t want to be stuck with a hefty bill,” Church said. “It also helps reduce travel day stress when you know you’ve got a guaranteed parking spot and a quick, free shuttle ride straight to your terminal.”

SOURCE: Travel PR News Top 5 cheapest city break destinations in Spain

Malaga, Spain, Nov-3-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — With the clocks going back last weekend and the winter nights closing in, the impulse to book a last-minute flight to somewhere sunny is very tempting.

However, a cheap flight does not necessarily mean a cheap and cheerful weekend away.

Which city destination offers the best value depends to a large extent on how much you spend when you get there. The City Break Cost Index published by the reveals how typical costs for travellers varies greatly from city to city in Spain this autumn/winter. It examines everything from the price of airport transfer by taxi, bus, train and *Uber*, eating out, accommodation and things to do.

Where to go to escape the winter blues on a budget?

As you might expect, the report reveals that the most expensive cities are also the most popular cities – Barcelona, Madrid and Palma – but you may be surprised which cities offer the best value.

The Andalusian city of Jerez, famous for its sherry and dancing Andalusian horses, is the cheapest city to visit for a weekend break.

Andalusia is the top region to visit for a short break, with four cities – Jerez, Seville, Granada and Malaga – in the top 5 cheapest city break destinations. With new flight routes from the UK to Seville and Granada this winter, you can catch a flight and, within 3 hours, be enjoying tapas in a Spanish “plaza” in the November sunshine.

Comparing the price of visiting the top 10 attractions in each city, Barcelona is the most expensive city, costing £117 per person to visit attractions such as Sagrada Familia, Casa Battlo, Camp Nou Experience and Las Ramblas (which is thankfully free). In comparison, you would get change from £30 to visit the top 10 attractions in the cities of Alicante, Bilbao, Malaga and Seville.

After booking flights, travellers spend an average of £596 on a city break in Spain. Accommodation, eating out and visiting tourist attractions are what visitors are most likely to spend their budget on. The biggest cost tends to be accommodation, with travellers spending an average of £241 for a 2-night stay.

While hotels remain one of the top accommodation choices, staying in a city centre apartment not only offers flexibility but huge savings too.

For example, a rental apartment for two people in Malaga costs up to £156 less than a double room in a hotel. And for under £200, a couple can find quality rental accommodation for 2-nights in the heart of Jerez, Malaga, Alicante and Valencia.

Jannich Petersen, COO of commented:

“City breaks are almost as popular as sun and beach holidays to Spain and now represent 26% of all holidays.”

“The top 10 Spanish cities differ greatly in their appeal and there is something for everyone, whether they are culture vultures, shopaholics, foodies or those looking for a vibrant nightlife.

The City Break Cost Index aims to provide clarity for travellers to plan and budget for a memorable weekend winter break in Spain that doesn’t break the bank”.

British Airways Launches Customer Recognition Programme

All companies in the customer service arena want to recognise their customers, and a new system developed by British Airways is set to take that recognition to a whole new level, even enabling its staff to put a face to the name before the customer sets foot in the airport.

The programme, known as ‘Know Me’, has been developed over several years and is now beginning to be rolled out. Its purpose is to collate a wealth of data from every experience the customer has with the airline and translate that into meaningful service for that individual.

The programme is able to send messages with information about specific customers to the iPads of customer service agents and senior cabin crew, or update check-in staff via the airline’s computer system. For example, they may be informed that a Silver Executive Club member is flying in business class for the first time thereby enabling the crew member to welcome that customer and explain the benefits of the cabin. Equally, if a regular traveller has experienced any issues on previous flights, such as a delay due to weather, the crew will be informed of that and will be able to go the extra mile, recognise the previous issue and thank the customer for their continued patronage.

The model also enables the crew to feed back useful information about the airline’s most loyal customers, enabling the airline to further personalise the service they receive on their next trip.

The personal recognition message is just a guide; it’s the customer service staff and cabin crew that bring it to life, enabling them to be more intuitive and proactive.

The most recent advancement of the system enables the British Airways team to search Google Images for a photo of specific customers so they can recognise them as soon as they enter the airport or aircraft and proactively approach them.

The airline is aiming to send 4,500 of these personal recognition messages a day by the end of 2012 with even greater scope for growth in the future.

As part of the programme a ‘delivery lab’ has also been set up to analyse the way the airline communicates with customers so that only the most relevant and interesting messages are sent to them.

Jo Boswell, head of customer analysis at British Airways, said: “Last year we re-committed to the ethos: ‘To Fly. To Serve’. That’s what ‘Know Me’ is all about – enabling us to recognise our customers in a way that is individual to them. Other airlines apply it in pockets to certain aspects of the travel experience, but we are looking at the whole journey from booking to collecting luggage at the carousel.

“We’re essentially trying to recreate the feeling of recognition you get in a favourite restaurant when you’re welcomed there, but in our case it will be delivered by thousands of staff to millions of customers.

“And the early results have been extremely positive, our customers love being recognised and treated as an individual and our customer service staff and cabin crew feel empowered to deliver a really bespoke service.

“This is just the start though – the system has a myriad of possibilities for the future.”

Ensure Your Perfumes and Toiletries Meet the Air Travel Guidelines

You know how it is when you’re preparing for your long-awaiting summer holiday or weekend away, and you’re going through your list to make sure you’ve packed all of your essentials. You’ve got your favourite perfume, and your all important hair serum to help you tackle the humidity, but then you remember; will you actually be able to take them on the plane?

The European Commission has recently announced that the limit on liquids, gels and aerosols that can be carried in hand luggage will be set at 100ml permanently. Furthermore, all liquids should be stored in clear plastic bags that can be sealed at the top, to ensure that airport security officials can see that you are taking only permitted liquids on board the flight, and in the right quantities.

Although the EU insists that these measures are vital for the ongoing safety of the passengers, travellers have been split in their opinions on the rules. According to a survey of almost 5000 Brits on travel review website TripAdvisor, 40 per cent of British travellers believe that the 100ml limit on hand luggage liquids does not make them feel any safer on their flight, while 47 per cent said the regulations did reassure them of their safety.

Regardless of whether you agree with them or not, these regulations are seemingly here to stay. So if you are jetting off on your holidays this summer, specifically if you are travelling with just a carry-on bag, then you should ensure that all of your perfumes, toiletries and other liquid bottles meet these regulations.

Online perfume retailer Fragrance Direct has perfumes and toiletries from some of the biggest brands on the market, and some of the most popular perfumes are now available from their online store in miniature “travel” versions that make them perfect for carrying in your hand luggage.

There are travel-friendly versions of some of the most popular perfumes on the market today, so why not stock up on the travel versions of the big name perfumes, such as Calvin Klein CK One Shock or Paco Rabanne 1 Million, to keep in your hand luggage and ensure you stay fresh during your journey, and you can store your larger beauty essentials in your suitcase.

You don’t have to be without your beauty favourites during your summer holidays, but you will have to ensure. To stock up on your holiday beauty products, and to view all of the travel perfumes, toiletries and other essentials that conform with EU flying regulations, visit the Fragrance Direct website at

Aer Lingus Targets Business Routes As Part Of Airport Switch

Aer Lingus is to move to George Best Belfast City Airport in the autumn after five years at Belfast International.

Following a tender process involving both airports, the decision has been taken to base two aircraft at the city airport during the winter and three during the summer.

A new-look winter schedule for 2012 will target two key routes for business, leisure and transfer traffic to London Heathrow and London Gatwick. There will be three flights daily to each airport in each direction.

The summer schedule, which begins from the end of March 2013, will operate daily flights to two sun destinations, Malaga and Faro in addition to the three daily rotations each to London Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

“Northern Ireland’s vital London connections are secure with Aer Lingus,” said Christoph Mueller, the airline’s chief executive, who announced the decision to move airports. “The two aircraft which we normally use in the winter for a mixture of sun destinations and Heathrow will be used for Heathrow and Gatwick with a third aircraft serving two European routes in the new-look summer schedule.”

He added: “This is a commercial decision delivering value for our customers and the company. George Best Belfast City Airport delivers a compelling location and a strong history of business flying. We believe the move will appeal to the 600,000 plus passengers annually who fly with us and especially the business traveller who now has a choice of two London airports with Aer Lingus.

“Indeed business travellers based in the Belfast City centre will now be able to substantially reduce transit times from office to aircraft. Customers who are members of our Gold Circle frequent flyer programme will also be able to use the business lounge facilities at George Best Belfast City Airport. We believe our dual offer of Heathrow and Gatwick supports the local marketplace during these challenging economic times.”

Mr Mueller said the 100 jobs created in the £100 million investment made by Aer Lingus in Northern Ireland five years ago remained secure.

“We remain committed to the Northern Ireland marketplace,” he said. “Jobs are secured in this move and indeed our plans for new routes in the future, may see employment and investment increase.”

Aer Lingus works closely with a number of partner airlines and expects transfer traffic to grow through both Heathrow and Gatwick.

Brian Ambrose, Chief Executive of George Best Belfast City Airport said: “We extend a warm welcome to Aer Lingus and look forward to working closely with the airline in creating a strong base in which to develop a growing route network.

“I am delighted with the frequency of services to London Heathrow and Gatwick. By the end of October, Belfast City will offer Northern Ireland’s only linkage to Heathrow with 10 flights per day.”

Aer Lingus will commence flying from George Best Belfast City Airport on Sunday 28th October 2012.

More Travel press releases Checks Travellers Out Of The Rain And Into Hours Of Sunshine

With the Met Office forecasting rain for the next few weeks, it’s time to escape to places where the sun does shine.

The UK forecast holds the equivalent of a month’s rain in just one day, winds of up to 50mph and the coldest May for 100 years. A very different, drizzly picture to the warm and sunny spring of last year.

To help turn dreary into dreamy,, the online leader in travel deals publishing, has scoured sunny locales near and far to guide travellers out of the dark and into the light with destinations chosen based on the number of hours of sunshine they offer.

“Given that the weather’s only going to get wetter, now’s the time to escape being affected by SAD in the springtime and get some Vitamin D in places that have it in abundance,” says Nadine Hallak, Travel Expert at

“The wet weather alone would send us on the hunt for brighter skies, but, combined with the official (and depressing) announcement of a double dip recession, now is most definitely the time to cure the gloom with a few rays of much needed sun,” adds Hallak.

Rhodes – 14 hours of sunshine per day

While Greece may have experienced its share of economic problems this year, the sun continues to blaze upon its isles and in Rhodes, specifically, it shines on for 14 glorious hours per day. This is a true sun-lovers paradise complete with miles of sandy beaches that lead nicely into bright turquoise seas. Nightlife is famous here with many bars, restaurants and clubs to keep the party going all night if that’s what it takes. Meanwhile, culture vultures can enjoy Rhodes Town, home to many stunning castles, churches and museums, which are packed with history and set upon lush, green hills. Flights to Rhodes start from £163 return.

Dubai – 13 hours of sunshine per day

The sun hardly ever sets on the desert, and Dubai is a much loved sunny destination with many Brits. In fact, its popularity with the celeb set has grown even further in 2011 and 2012, drawing yet more non-celebs to the destination. Beyond its shiny lights and sometimes ostentatious extravagances, this emirate actually offers everything a traveller could dream of on holiday. There are miles of white sandy beaches flecked with palm trees under which to relax, great barbeque spots, restaurants and bars by the beach that serve sumptuous cuisine in front of a stunning view and luxury hotels and spas at budget prices. It’s also a great place for outdoor enthusiasts and serves up plenty of water and desert sports, among a world of other adrenaline-inducing activities. Flights to Dubai start from £320 return.

Mauritius – 12 hours of sunshine per day

One would expect nothing short of long sunny days in a place that can truthfully be described as heaven on earth. Its beaches are powder white and its water is so crystal clear that it rivals any man-made pool. However, its real charm lies in culture, which is a blend of the many conquerors that have been and gone over time including the Portuguese, Dutch, French and British. The beaches to hit include Belle Mare on the east coast, Flic en Flac (Mauritius’ longest beach) situated on the west coast and renowned for its sunsets, and Tamarin Bay where mountains pose as a breath-taking backdrop. Keen divers will want to explore shipwrecks and coral reefs on the south west of the island. Flights to Mauritius start from £591 return.

Morocco – 12 hours of sunshine per day

With an average of 300 days of sunshine per year and flights of around three hours from the UK to most of its major holiday spots, summer is within easy reach at this exotic destination. A popular destination among Brits for the past few years now, its bustling souks, central squares and coastal riad-filled towns set against bright blue skies never cease to impress. Moreover, the British Pound goes a goes a long way in Morocco, and even budget-conscious adventure seekers will find plenty to get their blood pumping with camel rides across the desert or a sleep under the stars. Flights to Morocco start from £158 return.

Fiji – 11 hours of sunshine per day

It might be a little further to travel, but it’s well worth the trip. Blue lagoons, lush mountains and coconut palm trees make a sight for sore eyes and a rather literal warm welcome to travellers. Fiji’s tropical climate makes it appealing year round and its colourful reefs are a scuba diver’s dream. Comprised of 322 islands, Fiji’s developed economy caters to all manner of budgets and tastes from five-star resorts to hostels and backpackers. Flower lovers can also find attractions such as Garden of the Sleeping Giant, which house a most impressive collection of orchids, located near Nadi, while those who seek the spiritual can head to the Southern hemisphere’s largest Hindu temple, Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple, also in Nadi. Flights to Fiji start from £676 return.

Emirates Launches New Global Brand Platform

Emirates has launched a new global brand platform and direction, themed “Hello Tomorrow”, which positions the global airline as the enabler of global connectivity and meaningful experiences. Emirates is embarking on an integrated marketing communications campaign with a new brand promise as the company continues its evolution from a travel brand to a global lifestyle brand.

Designed for the age of consumer engagement and empowerment, “Hello Tomorrow” is about inspiring people to greet tomorrow’s unlimited potential, now. “Hello” is a greeting; an invitation to a person, a place or an experience. “Tomorrow” is a time, a place, a state of mind – the unlimited possibility of the future. Emirates is extending an invitation to try the unfamiliar, create new ideas, and form new visions. The theme encapsulates life’s potential and embracing the future with all the possibilities it holds.

“Our new corporate image and global marketing campaign both underline the confidence we have in our existing products and services, and the vision we have for the future growth of the airline,” said Sir Maurice Flanagan, Vice Chairman of Emirates Airline & Group. “Emirates is not just offering a way to connect people from point A to point B but is the catalyst to connect people’s hopes, dreams and aspirations.”

“Emirates is connecting people and cultures creating relevant and meaningful experiences that are shaping the world,” he added.

Emirates airline has grown from its early days in 1985, when it launched with just two aircraft, to its current status as one of the world’s fastest growing airlines with 171 wide-body aircraft including the world’s largest fleet of Boeing 777s and A380s. A brand synonymous with luxury and innovation, Emirates offers award-winning inflight entertainment and was the first to offer inflight telephony across all classes, individual TV screens on every seat, First Class suites and an onboard Shower Spa on its A380 aircraft. From its home base in Dubai, Emirates is geographically located within an eight hour direct flight of 75 per cent of the world’s population. More distant routes like the Americas are connected to the Dubai hub with long range aircraft that fly the distance direct.

The campaign was created with Emirates lead communications partner Strawberry Frog, the world’s first Cultural Movement agency. “We’re building on decades of innovation in Emirates marketing to launch this new and innovative movement for the world’s most thoughtful and incredible brand,” said Scott Goodson, Chairman of Strawberry Frog. “This bold next step for the brand will offer people who love the brand or want to experience the brand, inspiration to participate in this brave new world and spark new connections and experiences achieved through travel.

“The “Hello Tomorrow” campaign is at the vanguard of the trend for global brands to spark movements not simply do advertising, connecting people, communities and encouraging them to join together to make a positive impact on society,” added Goodson.

The campaign launch featured print, TV and digital advertising, including some iconic billboards in New York’s Times Square and Milan’s central train station. A series of vibrant messages that represent the spirit of Tomorrow – Tomorrow Brings Us Closer to; New People, New Experiences, New Styles, New Friends – will bring Emirates’ new vision to the marketplace. IPP advises agents on Flight Plus Liability as Airlines collapse by the week

Global travel credit specialists and UK market leader International Passenger Protection Ltd (IPP) have highlighted to new Flight Plus license holders that they will be liable for the financial collapse of any suppliers they sell such as Airlines, Hotels, Car Hire Companies, Rail journeys, Amusement parks, Ferries etc.

“Flight Plus presents a fresh direction in giving some form of clearer consumer protection, however we are seeing many agents still not grasping the actual liabilities they could face, no different to existing ATOL holders with agents still convinced that their ATOL covers the collapse of not only them but anything they sell”

“ATOL will only cover the collapse of anything the agent sells if the agent themselves collapses at the same time, otherwise the agent is always responsible for anything they sell which financially collapses which is part of a flight package” continued Mclean.

However IPP’s concern continued with the fact that the new ATOL certificate will only be issued to the public if they buy an ATOL holiday. “This seems to defeat the ultimate objective of an informative sale for all people purchasing travel, it’s a shame the certificate could not have gone a step further to clarify a trip not being protected so consumers can make an informed choice on their purchase and if they wish to protect or not.”

The warning comes as the 8th collapse in a matter of weeks with Air Australia leaving thousands stranded abroad, and with at least one airline collapsing each week in the last four weeks. “Collapses are not just stretching to Airlines, we have seen companies such as Sea Ferries and Hotels collapse or currently in dire financial strain” commented IPP’s Director Paul Mclean.

Protecting agents exposures can be simply covered with an annual policy covering scheduled flights and or end suppliers for very little costs per passenger. But IPP pointed out that agents should ensure they only take out insurance with Insurers whom are UK registered and members of the FSA and it would be prudent for them to check out the credentials of the Insurer providing the cover.

With the eurozone crisis, rising fuel costs and an increased tax burden, IATA forecast Europe’s airlines would lose at the best $600 million this year. The recent collapse of long established caries such as Malev and Spanair demonstrated how even governments are willing to let a state supported airline wither away. Numerous governments have shown their reluctance to continue support national carriers by seeking new investors such as Malev, LOT, SAS, TAP, and CSA Czech Airlines. This does not mean these carriers are at risk necessarily but investment from the banks is simply not there anymore which the whole industry depends on not just airlines.
