For the third time, Singapore welcomes the testosterone-filled 2010 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix as the public roads in the island nation are transformed into an exciting and action-filled race circuit from 24 – 26 September 2010. The only night race in the Grand Prix, Singapore’s race installation offers a heady mix of fast cars, glitz, glamour and non-stop excitement for participants and spectators alike. Singapore hotels are expecting a healthy occupancy rate during the race period and days leading up to it.
The Marina Bay Street Circuit, which lies to the east of Downtown Singapore, offers a race distance of approximately 309.316 km with 61 laps for the drivers to complete. Thousands of spectators from all corners of the world are expected to attend the qualifying races and actual race day itself to watch their favourite team’s drivers battle it out on the track. With powerful lighting systems that create a daylight condition, more than 80,000 fans are expected to enjoy the race in relative comfort and safety. There would be hospitality areas lining the track as well as the grandstand seating to accommodate them together with deluxe paddock facilities located near the Singapore Flyer building.
Lee Lai Huat, CEO of HolidayCity.com said, “I’d recommend that anybody who’s a great fan of the Formula One to make a trip to watch the only night race right in the heart of Singapore. With the city’s skyline as the backdrop, the race offers non-stop excitement and thrills that are difficult to top. He went on further to remark, “Take advantage of the huge savings offered by HolidayCity.com for Singapore accommodation.”
